GPS Location Recorder ("the app") is designed to help you record and export your location trips while keeping your data on your device.

Data We Collect

The app may access and process the following data on your device:

Location data (latitude, longitude, altitude, speed, course, accuracy, timestamp) while you use recording features
App settings (such as GPS sampling preferences)
Trip names and trip history you create in the app

How We Use Data

Your data is used only to provide app functionality, including:

Live location display
Trip recording and trip history
Trip metrics and map rendering
GPX/CSV export when you request it

Data Storage

Trip and app data are stored locally on your device.
We do not require account creation.
We do not run our own backend server for storing your trip data.

Data Sharing

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties.

Data leaves your device only when you explicitly choose to export/share files (for example, GPX or CSV via the iOS share sheet).

Tracking, Ads, and Analytics

No ads
No third-party ad SDKs
No user tracking for advertising
No in-app purchases or subscriptions

Location Permissions

The app requests location permission to provide recording features:

When In Use: Location works while the app is open/on screen
Always (optional): Enables background trip recording

You can change permission at any time in iOS Settings.

Apple Watch Companion

If you use the Apple Watch companion, it communicates with the iPhone app to show status and control recording actions. GPS recording remains dependent on iPhone location services in this app version.

Data Retention and Deletion

Data is retained on-device until you delete trips or remove the app.
You can delete trips from within the app.

Children’s Privacy

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a backend service.

Security

Because data is stored locally, protection depends on your device security (passcode, Face ID/Touch ID, iOS protections). No method is 100% secure, but we minimize exposure by avoiding unnecessary data collection.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
